TMBG ON THE BIG AND SMALL SCREENS!

Stuck in JFK Airport on my way to this Los Angeles McSweeney's show. Want everyone to know that Gigantic will be premiering in New York City on May 23 at the Cinema Village. We'll be performing a special celebratory gig at the Bowery Ballroom May 22 with many of the movie's participants on hand. The movie will also be opening in a number of other cities soon after, such as Washington DC, Boston, Los Angeles and Chicago. Visit www.giganticfilm.com for more details.

NOW IN STOCK! They Might Be Giants' Direct From Brooklyn DVD is available at www.tmbg.com and is chockablock with special extra features and bonus material, including "Your Mom's Alright" with Mike Doughty from Soul Coughing (previously only available on import!) along with Tiny Toons Adventures and Flansburgh and Linnell's commentary track.

TMBG HITS THE WEST COAST We're performing some special shows with Sapphire Bullets, the only TMBG cover band that really matters, opening up (they'll be performing their special rendition of the album "Flood") and we'll be incorporating liberal helpings of "Apollo 18" into the other gigs in an effort to get that entire album ready for near future specialty shows. Already prepped and in the "out" box are "See the Constellation," "Dinner Bell," "Hypnotist of Ladies," and "Narrow Your Eyes," so look for those in the set alongside other new/old Apollo 18 numbers.

We'll also be performing a couple of McSweeney's shows featuring fiction superstar and "Bangs" author Zadie Smith. Also of note: this Thursday at UCLA our pal Sarah Vowell will be reading, and we'll be singing the song we worked on with her called "Could Be Worse" (as heard on "This American Life"), along with an unlikely Smiths cover which is part of Dave Eggers' performance.
